Lands
Photographic possibilities of the wild places seem almost infinite. Out there, freed from our daily intense and often artificial western way of life - in which speed, urgency and self-promotion are still the norm, - is where I find unparalleled freedom and exhiliration, much sought-after quietness and deepest connection with my inner self.
A new world opens with unlimited possibilities for exploration, creation, and adventure.
In this quest, I care to transmit and honor as best as possible the beauty, magic and mystery of a place at a given moment by exploring the essential elements that shaped it or who give it life. And as a breath of fresh air from anthropogenic hegemony, the human imprint is deliberately absent in my approach to landscape photography, as if its presence were not necessary, or desired.
From African mountains to Arctic glaciers, from Iceland to geological sculptures of Europe, these images are direct records of moments in my exploration of complex landscapes. These images are for the sole purpose to remind us to stay humble, putting before us evidence of a time scale that so far exceeds our own. It is in the structure of these lands that the natural history of our world gets recorded so, when a touch of life comes by and fills the frame, the scene is complete...
The raw beauty of nature has the ability to connect us with something bigger, beyond our human condition. And I must encourage not only the appreciation, but also the protection, of these lands.
